Sports Scholarships at UNSW

If you are a baseball or softball player who wants to play for UNSWBSC, you may be eligible for a scholarship from the university. 

UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS

The University offers several scholarships to potential First or A Grade Baseball or Softball Players who are current or enrolling students at UNSW. A summary of scholarships that may be of interest are listed below.

The Ben Lexcen Scholarships
These scholarships are awarded to elite student-athletes from multiple sports. They provide:

• Up to $5,000 in cash and in-kind support
  
• Sports science support
  
• Strength and conditioning program
  
• Sports psychology
• Gym membership
• Australian University Games package cost waived (travel costs not included)
• “Elite Performer” recognition, allowing flexibility to structure your study around your sporting commitments
• Grant to offset travel costs to recognised international sporting events

High Performance Scholarships
These scholarships supplement the Lexcen program and are also awarded to elite student-athletes from multiple sports. They provide:

• Up to $1,500 cash
  
• Sports science support
  
• Strength and conditioning program
  
• Sports psychology
  
• Gym membership
  
• AUG package cost waived (travel costs not included)
  
• “Elite Performer” recognition
  
• Grant to offset travel costs to recognised international sporting events

Club scholarships
These scholarships supplement the Lexcen and High Performance program. They provide:

• Sports science support
  
• Strength and conditioning program
• Sports psychology
• Gym membership
  
• AUG package cost waived (travel and entry fee not included)
  
• Club to waive membership fees

THINKING OF STUDYING AT UNSW?

THE UNSW ELITE ATHLETES AND PERFORMERS PROGRAM.

Under the UNSW Elite Athletes and Performers Program, applicants for undergraduate places can also receive up to five bonus points on their ATAR (or recognised senior secondary qualification) for entry into their preferred UNSW program (other than Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery).

The Elite Athletes and Performers Program also provides eligible students in all study programs the necessary support to successfully integrate their academic life with their sporting pursuits through enrolment flexibility, cross-institutional study options and leave of absence for travel commitments.

CURRENT UNSW STUDENTS.

A set of criteria has been established to recognise student contributions to the university for inclusion on their Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS). Examples of approved special achievements, scholarships, prizes and awards and co-curricular activities that may apply to members of the UNSWBSC include:

• Student Representatives on recognised UNSW committees
  
• UNSW Sporting ‘Blues’
• UNSW Sports Recognition Awards recipients
